Routine procedures that can prevent unwanted pregnancies and various health problems in pets.
Spaying and neutering are elective surgeries that can have numberous health benefits for your cat or dog. Not only that, but these surgeries can also eliminate certain behaviours making pet ownership an even better experience. During spay surgery we make a small incision near the abdomen to remove the ovaries and uterus from female cats and dogs.
Spay and neuter surgeries are performed to prevent cats and dogs from going into heat and getting pregnant or fathering litters. When your cat or dog becomes sexually mature, they seek out different ways to procreate. Ideally it is best for your loyal companion to have spay or neuter surgery when they are young, before they have developed sexually. For dogs it is usually recommended that they have the surgery when they are 6 months old. We recommend that cats have spay or neuter surgery around 5 months old. If your loyal companion is older and healthy they can still have the surgery.
