Surgical Services

We offer life-saving procedures that can improve your loyal companion’s quality of life.

In many instances, surgery is an unavoidable treatment for your loyal companion’s well-being. As animal lovers and professionals in veterinary medicine, we take pride in ensuring that your beloved pet has the best team performing their surgery. We follow strict protocols before, during and after surgery to ensure your pet is comfortable and gets the best results possible.

How safe is anesthesia?

Many pet owners are worried about the effects of anesthesia for their cat or dog. The only way to ensure your loyal companion feels no pain during the procedure is to administer anesthesia. To mitigate the risk of anesthesia we perform a full blood panel to assess your pet’s health status. Blood analysis can identify unknown health issues which may cause complications during surgery. Based on the bloodwork results we can determine a safe dosage of anesthesia for your pet.

To add another layer of safety to the surgery we monitor the patient’s vital signs during the procedure. Our veterinarians are always assisted during surgery by a registered veterinary technician who monitors the patient’s heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen levels and temperature. If and when any of these levels become a cause for concern, we can act immediately.

What type of anesthesia will be used for my pet’s surgery?

Depending on the type of surgery there are two types of anesthesia that may be used: local or general anesthesia. Local anesthesia affects a certain part of the body where it is applied. We often use local anesthesia for procedures like skin mass removal. General anesthesia is used for more invasive procedures. This type of anesthesia makes the patient unconscious and unable to feel any pain. It is used for dental procedures, spays and neuters, abdominal mass removal etc.

What surgeries are performed at your hospital?

We perform the following surgeries:

  • Spays and neuters
  • Lump removals
